Cold temperatures hurting Swiss Valley Ski Area

Posted:

The chilly weather is affecting winter activities, and not in a good way!

Swiss Valley Ski and Snowboard Area was closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Although the snowfall has been great for Swiss Valley, the winds have caused some trouble.

The main problem? Warnings and watches restricting travel for drivers in Michiana.

"Our hands are tied in that situation, we want everybody to come out and enjoy skiing and snow and winter, but we do need for our employees to be able to travel to get here," says Jamie Stafne with Swiss Valley.

Swiss Valley is now back open and will remain open until March.

They've put away their snow machines for the season, though, with up to a 60 inch base in some areas.
