Detroit police say a 5-year-old girl who went missing Wednesday morning has been found with her mother in Lubbock, TX.  Police had sent out an alert Wednesday that 5-year-old Zoie Jackson and her mother, Carmela Lynn Jackson, could be heading to Elkhart.

Police say Zoie was picked up from her Detroit-area school on Tuesday afternoon by her mother, who does not have custody of her daughter.  Carmela also reportedly suffers from mental illness.

Elkhart Police say they were notified that the Jacksons could be on their way to the area.  They say they have investigated the family and found no sign of Carmela or Zoie.

Zoie and Carmela were found in Texas on Friday.  Carmela was taken into custody, and Zoie was returned to her family.
