UPDATE: Man pulled from St. Joseph River dies

Indiana Conservation officers say the man pulled from the St. Joseph River died on Tuesday.

Investigators were able to identify him as 57-year-old Stephen M. Rodick of South Bend.

Emergency crews were called to the river near Darden Road and Riverside Drive in South Bend around 6:30 p.m. about a man in the river. Police say it didn't take long to reach him. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but he was taken off life support Tuesday afternoon.

The DNR is still investigating how Rodick ended up in the river.
