23-year-old Tyree Scott was sentenced to 50 years for felony murder Tuesday, according to the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.  Scott was charged with the murder of 18-year-old Christopher Simril.

Simril died February 26, 2012 at Walker Park on West Ewing Ave in South Bend.  An autopsy indicated he died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

On June 14, 2016 Scott was charged with murder, felony murder, and attempted robbery in Simril's death.  He later plead guilty to felony murder in a plea agreement and the other charges were dismissed.

Two others were also charged with felonies in connection to Simril's murder.  26-year-old Gregory Townsend was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and attempted robbery.  He has a hearing Wednesday.  19-year-old Keion Goss was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.  He has a hearing scheduled for March 4th.
