Warsaw man arrested for selling badger online

Authorities have charged a Warsaw man with selling wildlife online.

Matthew Kerkhoff is accused of putting a taxidermy mount badger on Craigslist and getting money for it. The 21-year-old was arrested after an Indiana Conservation officer received a tip.

The TIP (Turn in a Poacher) program does offer rewards for information leading to the arrest of any person violating fish and wildlife laws.

It's unlawful to sell or own protected species such as badgers, bobcats, or river otters without a permit from Indiana or another state.
