Mishawaka mayor looks to the city's future

A look into the future, we now have an idea of where Mishawaka is heading.

Mayor Dave Wood gave his fourth State of the City address, Monday evening.

He talked about finishing projects started last year, such as construction on the Union Street overpass and reinventing one of the city's oldest parks, Central Park, near the police station.

Wood also discussed public safety. He says all violent crime is down in the city this year. He says the police department is adding a police beat to the downtown and river walk areas as well.

Wood says the city is moving in a good direction, and he expects positive growth will continue through 2014.
