City leaders meet in South Bend to discuss violence

South Bend continues searching for ways to decrease the city's gun violence.  Wednesday morning city leaders and members of the community gathered as part of the anti-violence commission.  They say they are making progress on the issue and studying models in other cities.

Organizers say the key is to get their message to young people.  "One of the most important things the youth need to know is that the community loves them, but we are tired of the violence and we love them, and we want it to stop, and we want to do anything to help them to be able to grow and be successful in the city of South Bend.  Because, when they grow, our city grows as well," says Isaac Hunt an organizer.

Organizers noted that they are working with police in Chicago to try and bring some of their successful models to South Bend.
