Officers to be honored for response in Martin's Supermarket shooting

Two Elkhart Police officers are being honored this week for their response to the shooting at Martin's Supermarket last month.

Elkhart Representative Tim Neese drafted a resolution to honor Corporal Cody Skipper and Corporal Jason Tripp.

They'll be honored in House Chambers in Indianapolis Wednesday, the 26th.

Neese says the men will also get a tour of the Statehouse and will meet with the Governor.

Skipper and Tripp responded to the deadly shooting at Martin's on January 15th. Police say 21-year-old Krystle Dikes and 44-year-old Rachelle Godfread were shot and killed by Shawn Bair.

The officers are credited for stopping Bair before he can shoot any more victims.

Dikes and Godfread will also be honored in the resolution, Wednesday.
