Buttigieg: I have zero interest in running for governor in 2016

The race for Indiana's top political spot is still two years away.

We don't know who will run against current Governor Mike Pence, but the Democratic Party is already looking for potential candidates.

Over the weekend, one name that popped up in "The Indianapolis Star" is from South Bend. It's Mayor Pete Buttigieg, but he seems to have a different idea in mind.

"You know, that's very flattering, but I do have zero interest in running for Governor in 2016," he says. "I have the best job in the world. As Mayor of South Bend, I'm going to concentrate on doing that job and in 2015 also concentrate on keeping that job. And that's more than enough to keep me busy."

Buttigieg also has plans to serve our country. He leaves for Afghanistan Friday.

Some of the other potential candidates mentioned in the article include Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight and House Minority Leader Scott Pelath of South Bend.
