Two shot in chaotic scene in downtown South Bend

A chaotic scene outside a club in downtown South Bend early Saturday morning.

Police first got a call about a disturbance near Michigan and Wayne Streets around 2:30am. An officer on the way to the scene saw a man firing shots near the parking garage at Wayne and St. Joseph Streets.

That 29-year-old man had a gunshot wound to the hand, but wouldn't tell officers how it happened.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old walked into Memorial hospital with a gunshot wound to the right forearm. That person, again, wouldn't tell police details about how it happened.

Police say there was also groups of people fighting in the street outside Club Fever. One person was reported to getting hit in the head with a bottle.

At this time, no arrests have been made. If you know who is responsible for the double shooting, call South Bend Police at 574-235-9201.
