South Bend Sliver Hawks hold auditions for season performers

Posted:

The South Bend Silver Hawks held auditions for children and adults of all ages for the opportunity to be performers or sing the national anthem in the upcoming season. The team asked for singers, magicians, musicians, and anyone else with a talent to come out to Four Winds Field and audition.

Some of the performers included a trumpet player, several young children singing the Nation Anthem, a magician, and one boy who performed "Don't Stop Believing." There are 70 home games in the Silver Hawks season. Those who are picked from the auditions on Saturday afternoon will sing or perform on a given game.

12-year-old Justin McCormick was the singer who sang "Don't Stop Believing." He says he would be very excited if he is picked to perform during the season. "I've loved the Silver Hawks since I was little, and I love singing, so I came out and tried my best and sang my favorite song."

The performers waited for their number to be called. Then they performed in front of a panel of four members for the Silver Hawks organization. The home opener for the team is April 8.
