Poker tournament benefits education program

Cards were dealt and bets were made at the RV Hall of Fame Saturday and all for a good cause.

More than 250 players signed up for the sixth annual Texas Hold 'Em Charity Poker Tournament.

The event was put on by the Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club.

The money will go to the Ethos Science Center.  It's a non-profit group that brings science projects to schools.

"Robotics, Lego robotics, and high school robotics component; both of those are growing exponentially in the area," says Executive Director Ethos Science Center, Patsy Boehler.

About $100 thousand has been raised in past tournaments and money has gone to the Elkhart County Chapter of the Red Cross.

Some is also used for scholarships and youth programs put on by the Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club.
