ND wins ACC Tourney to remain undefeated

With a 69-53 win over top ten Duke, the Notre Dame women's basketball team won the ACC Tournament and continue their quest for an undefeated season.

"[Winning the ACC Tournament] means a lot," Notre Dame senior guard Kayla McBride told ESPN. "It just shows the mental toughness of this program. We've come in day in and day out and we've been ready for every competition that we had. I'm really proud of these girls."

McBride's 25 point effort in the ACC Title Game helps move the Irish to 32-0 this season. The Notre Dame senior guard has not been shy this season saying she wants to be undefeated and finish the season as national champions.

"There's seven games left in my mind," McBride said in the previously mentioned ESPN interview. "I'm taking it game by game. We're going to get everybody's best shot. We've just got to take it down to the wire and play great basketball."

The ACC title was tied at halftime, but Notre Dame outscored the Blue Devils by 16 points in the second half to secure the win. Irish sophomore Jewel Loyd led all scorers with 26 points in the game.

This is the first year for Notre Dame in the Atlantic Coast Conference and they were able to win both the regular season and tournament championship.

Notre Dame now has eight days off before they find out who they will play in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
