Penn High School students win robotics competition

Students at Penn High School are making advances in technology.

They took part in a robotics competition at Rose-Hilman Institute and Technology last weekend.

Forty-five teams showed up, and Penn High School was able to make it to the top eight. They then collaborated with two other teams to take home the top prize.

Andy Klump is one of the students who had a hand in putting together the winning robot.

"It was really surreal to be able to think of an idea," he said, "and then get the chance to build - or design and build that idea. And then go onto the field to see it compete and win."

As regional champions, the winning alliance has qualified for the first World Championship.

They will be competing in Saint Louis next month.
