Penn High School to buy Chromebooks for students

Posted:

Students and teachers at Penn High School are excited.  The Board just approved the purchase of Chromebooks for the 2014-2015 school year.

It means each of the 3,400 students will get a new laptop.

As for the price tag, each device costs about $265, but the district has been saving up for the purchase.

Assistant Superintendent Kay Antonelli says, "It's exciting because I think the one piece that makes it so is the fact that we don't look at this as just buying a computer. We look at how this is going to change the face of learning."

Administrators say not only will students have better access to instant information, it will also be easier for them to communicate with their teachers after the bell rings.
