Russia has banned nine U.S. lawmakers and officials in retaliation to U.S. sanctions over the situation in Crimea.

Among those on the list, Indiana Senator Dan Coats.

"While I'm disappointed that I won't be able to go on vacation with my family in Siberia this summer, I am honored to be on this list," Senator Coats said in a statement.

"Putin's recent aggression is unacceptable, and America must join with our European allies to isolate and punish Russia. I will continue to lead efforts on Capitol Hill to bring Putin to his senses."

The list, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also includes House Speaker John Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and several senior White House officials.

Complete List

  • Caroline Atkinson - Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs

  • Benjamin Rhodes - Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting
  • Sen. Harry Reid – D-Nevada/Senate Majority Leader

  • Sen. Robert Menendez – D-New Jersey/Chairman, Senate Foreign Affairs Committee
