BMX Pro-Am coming to South Bend

Posted:

If you like extreme sports, South Bend is the place to be this weekend.  The third annual Brett Banasiewicz BMX Pro-Am will take place Saturday and Sunday.

The event will feature 50 different pro riders from around the world.  X-Games champion Scotty Cranmer will be riding at the event.  Australian Ryan Guettler a Dew Cup Champion will also be in attendance.

Organizers say they expect close to 1,000 spectators.  "A lot of people have never seen it.  They still don't know what BMX is, and BMX is huge.  It's worldwide and it's in the west side of South Bend this weekend live," says organizer, and Brett's mother, Lisa Banasiewicz.

The event will take place at The Kitchen Skate Park.  Around 50 to 75 amateur riders from around the country will also compete in the event.
