A suspect has been arrested in connection to a bomb threat called in earlier this week.

Elkhart County deputies searched three government buildings Tuesday morning after a threatening call.  The caller made a "non-specific and general" threat on the county and city courthouses and the prosecutor's office around 10:00am, according to police.

After thoroughly searching the buildings, police say no bombs or suspicious items were found.  "Though the investigation revealed no actual threat to the court houses or the prosecutor's office," said Capt. James Bradberry in a written statement, "the Sheriff's Department takes a strong stance in holding those accountable for making false threats that disrupt the community and its resources."

The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department says they have arrested 25-year-old Kenneth Childress on a preliminary charge of false reporting.  Making a false bomb report is a felony and is punishable by up to 3 years in prison.
