Notre Dame women's basketball talks championship game against UConn

The Notre Dame women's basketball team earned their place in the National Title game after taking care of Maryland on Sunday evening. The Fighting Irish beat the Terrapins by more than 20 points to secure their spot in the finals.

Notre Dame will take on Connecticut on Tuesday night in what will be a historic game. This will be the first time the women's championship will be played by two undefeated teams. "We already don't like each other, so that add to it," senior guard Kayla McBride said.

This match up may not come as a surprise to many people. "I feel like it was something always being talked about," McBride said. The Irish enter the National Championship game 37-0 and the Huskies at 39-0. "Two teams going at it, I'm excited," McBride said.

There is certainly no love lost between Notre Dame and UConn.  When we asked if hate was the right word for the feeling towards the Huskies, Coach Muffet McGraw said, "I think that's a fair assumption."
