Elkhart officers returning to active duty after Martin’s shooting review

Two police officers involved in the January shooting at an Elkhart Martin's store will return to full active duty on Wednesday.

Corporals Cody Skipper and Jason Tripp were placed on paid administrative leave following the shooting, standard procedure following an incident.

Elkhart County Prosecutor Curtis Hill announced in late March the officers did what they were trained to do. An internal review determined there were no violations of policy or training.

Skipper and Tripp were honored at the Indiana Statehouse in February for their actions.
