Notre Dame fans disappointed with loss, proud of team

A disappointing loss for the Notre Dame Women. The Irish fell to UConn, 79-58 in the National Championship game in Nashville, Tuesday night.

Back here at home, fans cheered on the Notre Dame women, packing local bars near campus.

O'Rourkes was full of Irish fans last night, all hopeful they could beat the Huskies. After the game, fans say they're disappointed, but still proud of the team.

"They had a wonderful year and in our hearts, the Irish Women's basketball is an awesome program and we couldn't have asked for anything more," says Notre Dame fan, Chris Hoyt.

Fan Daniel Hoyt says, "The Irish had a good season, undefeated. It's awesome. That doesn't happen easily. So we're very proud of the Irish and there's always next year."

The Notre Dame Women finished the season 37 and 1.

This was the fourth straight year they've made it to the Final Four.
