UPDATE: Old US-33 back open after business fire

Posted:

Old US-33 in Elkhart County is back open following a business fire at Quality Paint.  Dispatchers tell us the fire started last night a little after 8pm.  Crews put it out and left the scene around 11pm.

Early Thursday morning around 2am it sparked up again. Old US-33 was closed until close to 9am.

Fire officials don't know why the fire started again after they were sure it was out.  The fire marshall is conducting an investigation.

Crews from four different agencies responded to the blaze.  Baugo, Wakarusa, Cleveland Township and Concord were all on the scene.
