Ag Day teaches kids where their food comes from

Animals provided not only some fun and entertainment for families this weekend, but also some education.

Animal owners were on hand at Ag Day to teach others all about animals.

There were many on display at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds, from chickens to cows to even some lamas.

The purpose of Ag day is to teach kids about where their clothes and food comes from.

"We know that the kids really don't have much connections with the farms anymore that live in town and stuff so we're trying to teach them that food doesn't just appear on the shelf," says Debbie Podenski with the St. Joseph County Ag Team.

Kids could pet the animals and take pictures. There was even a fake cow that children could milk.
