Notre Dame police investigating report of sexual battery on campus

Notre Dame Security Police want your help finding a sexual assault suspect.  University Spokesman Dennis Brown says a female student reported the assault Tuesday morning around 5:00am.

She told police that a man grabbed her and spoke to her near the south end of LaFortune Student Center, but she managed to break away and get to safety.  Notre Dame did not release what was said to the victim.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male in his 30s.  He was between 5'10" and 6' tall, with a pot belly stomach, dark complexion, and black loose curly hair.  The student said he had a beard but no mustache, and a tattoo on his right upper arm.  He reportedly spoke with a thick Hispanic accent and was wearing a red t-shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call NDSP at 574-631-5555 or Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP (7867).
