SBPD investigating shooting on South Bend's west side

Posted:
Rich Text Police are investigating a shooting on the west side of South Bend. It happened a little after 9:00pm Monday night near the intersection of Western Avenue and Kosciuszko Street.

South Bend Police tell us that one man was shot.  He has non-life threatening injuries.

Cody Wieczorkowski lives near where the shooting took place.  He says he saw the shooting take place.  Wieczorkowski said two men were having an argument when one of the them started running down the street.  The man who was running, pulled out a gun and started shooting at the other man.  The witness said he jumped into his car and got down.  "You've got to play it cool and hit the deck.  Get out of the way," he said.  Wieczorkowski said the shooter then got into a car and sped off.

No suspects have been arrested at this time.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the South Bend Police.
