Northridge Teacher Finishes 60th at Boston

Andy Williams agreed that it was a perfect storm for him Monday at the Boston Marathon.  The Northridge Middle School health teacher ran a personal best at the Boston Marathon in 2:26:38.  The effort was good for 60th place out of more than 36,000 runners.  It was also the 2nd best time for an Indiana runner.

Andy Williams said,  "It's the 2nd time I've been out there now. Got to experience it last year.  Finished before the bombs happened last year so very fortunate the my family and I were safe afterward."  When asked about finishing 60th he said, "I was very fortunate about it. The preparation went well.  The weather was awesome, the fans were awesome and everything just kind of came together.  I've been fortunate to since college, I ran in middle school and high school, college and just kept on running.  I coach high school track and x-country, and so I run with our team quite a bit."

In 2013, Williams was 68th.  His time last year was 2:28:29.
