Traffic mess on I-94 after mobile home falls off trailer

INDOT and Indiana State Police were kept busy Tuesday by semi accident on I-94 in Porter County. According to State Police, half of a mobile home being hauled by a semi ended up on two lanes, blocking the State Road 49 exit.

State Police say the accident happened around 10:15am. Troopers say the 40,000 pound mobile home shifted, causing some bolts to break, bend and come out, putting the home on the road.

State Police say the semi is owned by Star Fleet Incorporated of Goshen. The home was being transported from Topeka, Indiana to Sioux City, Iowa.

All lanes were reopened to traffic around 4:20pm Central Time.
