The dangers of smoking hookah

Posted:
The next time you decide to unwind with some friends by enjoying some hookah, you might want to think twice. That’s because, like smoking cigarettes, it can lead to many health issues. You can face lung cancer, other cancers, and heart disease if you are a hookah smoker. Not to mention the infections you can pick up from sharing the device.

Hookah, which is a flavored tobacco, began hundreds of years ago in Asia. Now, it’s becoming a popular trend here in the United States. Some experts think the popularity of the flavored tobacco is on the rise because young people think it’s safer than cigarettes. Experts say that theory is false because you are inhaling the same toxins you would ingest while smoking a cigarette.

Like cigarettes, hookah smoke can become an addiction because of the nicotine in the tobacco. Some people mistake the hookah smoke as water vapor, but that is not the case. If you smoke hookah, you are inhaling smoke.

Experts say, the next time you decide to kick back with the flavored tobacco, you may want to think twice.
