Studebaker Plaza dedicated in Downtown South Bend

The City of South Bend dedicated a new plaza remembering one of area's most well-known companies.

Studebaker Plaza is located at Michigan Street and Jefferson Boulevard, the same place as the original Studebaker blacksmith shop.

The plaza features several Studebaker touches, including the famous emblem on a stone wall.

The plaza also features "Space Churn with Octagon," a sculpture by artist George Rickey, a South Bend native. The sculpture is on loan to South Bend from the George Rickey Foundation Collection.

The plaza is also a perfect place for a nice game of chess. There's a chessboard built right in to the some of the plaza's pavement and giant chess pieces will be available to play a game with.
