Three injured in Cass County hit & run

The Cass County Sheriff's Department is looking for a driver who left the scene of a crash around 3:00, Sunday afternoon.

Police say a Jeep driven by an Elkhart man, was going east on M60.
A newer, dark-colored pickup truck came up behind the Jeep at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the Jeep.

The Jeep went off the road and crashed into the front deck of a home and then into a tree. The three people inside the Jeep were injured in the crash. One had to be airlifted to the hospital and another extricated from the vehicle.

The pickup truck sustained some front end damage and was leaking fluids. The truck fled the scene and has yet to be located.

Safety belts were not used by the passengers and alcohol believes to be a factor.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office is requesting anyone with information regarding this unknown vehicle to contact their local dispatch or call the Cass County Sheriff's tip line at 1-800-462-9328.
