Martin goes 16th in NFL Draft

Notre Dame's offensive lineman Zack Martin went 16th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night.  He became the 64th former Notre Dame player to be drafted in the first round and is the highest drafted Irish offensive lineman since the Seattle Seahawks chose Andy Heck with the 15th pick of the 1989 draft. He is the first Notre Dame offensive lineman selected in the first round of the NFL Draft since Jeff Faine was chosen by the Cleveland Browns with the 21st pick of the 2003 draft.

Other players drafted:
1. Jadeveon Clowney-South Carolina to Houston
2. Greg Robinson-Auburn to St. Louis
3. Blake Bortles-Central Florida to Jacksonville
4. Sammy Watkins-Clemson to Buffalo
5. Khalil Mack-Buffalo to LA Raiders

The Lions chose Eric Ebron, a tight end from North Carolina at #10.  The Bears went with CB Myles Fuller from Virginia Tech at #14.  The Colts did not have a selection in the first round.  They will choose #59 in the 2nd round.

The draft continues with rounds 2 and 3 Friday night with the 4th through the 7th round Saturday.
