First Responders receive grant

Good news for safety agencies across Indiana.
The state Homeland Security Foundation awarded$400,000 in grants to 112 fire departments, emergency medical services and law enforcement agencies in 62 counties.
The money will pay for equipment such as thermal imaging cameras, fire hoses and defibrillators. Almost $4,000 will pay for new fire boots in Nottingham Township of Wells County near Fort Wayne.
Indiana Governor Mike Pence says the money allows Indiana's first responders to replace and upgrade equipment vital to daily operations.
The foundation gets money from "Secure Indiana" license plate sales. Funds also go to student scholarships.
