Cattle injured in crash on I-94 in Berrien County

Crews are working to clean up a crash that has left multiple cattle injured on the I-94 in Berrien County.

One westbound lane is closed near mile marker 26 after a tractor trailer carrying cattle flipped around 3:15am Thursday morning. Authorities at the scene confirmed that an unknown number cattle have been injured, and some have been killed. The trailer was hauling 29 cattle at the time of the crash.

"We couldn't access the trailer to get into to remove the cattle, also we couldn't take them out til we had the rustlers here with the equipment," says Officer Mike Lanier with the Saint Joe Township Police.
