Items donated to homeless veterans in South Bend

Over five truck loads of donated items were delivered to the Life Treatment Center in South Bend, Thursday, to help homeless veterans.  Items, such as blankets, hygiene items, and clothing had been collected through out Michiana.  This was the end result of the Kernen's Hero's Drive.

Patriot Officer for VFW360, Michael Wells, says it is nice to see people come together to help veterans who have fallen on hard times.  "Just to be able to give back to these guys," Wells said, "to be able to say hey, thanks for what you have done for my country, for us, and to be able to show that people care in the community."

A five hundred dollar check was also awarded to the Center from the Homes for Heroes Foundation.
