Walkers turn out to fight cancer for Relay for Life event

They're burning the midnight oil, all for a cause that affects so many.

Relay for life kicked off at Mishawaka High School, Saturday.

The event that raises money for cancer research, drew hundreds. Dozens of tents were set up around the school's track with many people walking to raise money.

FOX28 spoke to a cancer survivor who says this event hits close to home. "Now I get to see a different aspect of it as a survivor, so it means coming together with a bunch of warriors that have been through this and just lifting each other up," says cancer survivor, Rachel Dubree.

FOX28 is a proud sponsor of Relay For Life. Visit our tent at Mishawaka High School. The event ends at 10:00am, Sunday.
