Despite the power outage in downtown South Bend, some businesses are having customers coming through their doors. That's because some businesses were able to get a generator.

Fiddler's Hearth co-owner Terrace Meehan says he got the generator on Friday and was able to handle a rush of people that evening. He says he feels lucky he was able to get a generator in place. "They're probably taking a number of generators over there at Notre Dame and St. Mary's so we were blessed to get what we were termed 'the last one in the bunch,'" Meehan said.

The South Bend Chocolate Cafe is another business running on a generator. Store Manager, Sherri Huffer says she was excited to see the number of people coming in, but she also wanted to thank those involved to help them open their doors. "DTSB Ambassadors have been such a big help to us and the AEP coming in and making sure our generators and everything are hooked up right and that we're safe," Huffer said.

The South Bend Chocolate Cafe is offering 20 percent off to any workers involved in restoring power back in downtown South Bend.
