Posted:
One person was shot in the foot during a suspected South Bend home invasion. It happened on N. Meade St. Police blocked off N. Meade for several hours while they investigated the shooting.

Capt. Phil Trent said police suspect the incident started at 4:00am when two males wearing hoodies and bandanas over their faces confronted a man as he entered his home. After following him inside, police say the two men stole the man's money and shot him in the foot as he tried to hold onto to one of them long enough for the police to arrive.

Trent says police do not think this was a random act, and say a marijuana grow operation was located inside the home.

The victim has been treated and released from a nearby hospital. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
