Summer Camp for aspiring firefighters ages 10-13

Posted:
The Clay Fire Territory is now accepting applications for its annual Fire camp.  Crews say the camp is a great opportunity for kids to experience and learn what firefighters and EMTs do on a daily basis. The program is geared for children between the ages of 10 and 13. The camp will be held from 9am until 3pm from June 16 through June 20.

Campers will be given the chance to get a "hands on" experience with fire equipment and get the opportunity to learn skills in mock fire and rescue situations. Instructors of the event say their goal is teach the kids team building and valuable life saving skills, all while having fun.

If you're interested in enrolling your kids, just fill out the camper application and return it to any Clay Fire Territory station with the $45.00 camp fee attached. Applications can be picked up at any Clay Fire Territory station, or you can download your own app at www.clayfd.com. The camp fee will pay your kids' way through camp, and will also score them T-shirts and refreshments. Instructors are asking that you send your child with a sack lunch. The camp is limited to 30 kids, so make sure you get that application in right away.

For more information, just contact the Clay Fire Territory Community Services Division at 574-272-2144.
