Notre Dame Stadium is making some major changes, but some Irish fans will be making their friends green with envy because of it.  The University is replacing the field with artificial field turf this week.  The change is part of a planned overhaul and expansion of the stadium announced last year.

Notre Dame won't be throwing out the old turf, though.  They'll be selling it.  Fans can buy 2-foot-by-five-foot sections of the actual natural grass.  Each section costs about $150 and includes two-day shipping and a certificate of authenticity.  If you want to purchase some of the sod, you can go to www.und.com/grass for details.

Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick says the change will add consistency for the players who already practice on FieldTurf and will make maintenance for Commencement and other stadium events easier.
