Bike the Bend 5th Anniversary celebration

Bike the Bend is saying thank you. They will take the time Thursday, May 29 to recognize and celebrate the organization's sponsors and supporters. The celebration will take place from 5 to 7pm at The Brick in South Bend.

The celebration will include the unveiling of the 5th anniversary ride jersey for this years Bike the Bend, which is happening June 8. Organizers will also present checks totaling $8,000 for Bike the Bend matching grant to Evie Kirkwood of the St .Joseph County Parks Foundation and Harry Thibault, park commission chairman for Niles Charter Township.

“These grants will help us stay true to Louise Addicott’s vision of bringing the community together,” said Jeanne Blad, executive director of Bike the Bend.

Bike the Bend is the vision of Louise E. Addicott. She is a woman who envisioned families and friends being able to ride side-by-side while enjoying their community, and spending time together.

Bike the Bend has set a goal to reinvest any excess profits from the bike ride to maintain, enhance, and improve bicycling opportunities. For more details on the event, check out www.BiketheBend.com or call (574) 204-2458.
