Posted:
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY - The fifth separate date for the trial of a Granger woman accused of leaving her baby in a dumpster was set Wednesday morning. Purvi Patel appeared in court for a hearing on a motion for a continuance filed by her defense. She is charged with Neglect of a Dependent, a Class A Felony, in connection to the death of an infant.

Patel's trial date was pushed back two weeks, and is now set for Sept. 29.

Police say Patel admitted that a baby found in a dumpster behind a restaurant in the University Crossing Shopping Center in July of 2013 was hers.
