South Bend and Fort Wayne gaining in population

According to a new report by an Indiana University research team, four of Indiana's largest cities are in for a population increase. The Indiana Business Research Center says South Bend, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Evansville all saw population increases between 2010 and 2013 that were noticeably larger than previous years. The report is based on the U.S. Census Bureau population estimates that the IU research team analyzed.

The authors say Indy saw an increase of 7,200 people annually between 2010 and 2013. Giving Indiana's capital a population of about 843,000. Fort Wayne saw an increase of 900 people annually from 2010 to 2013, making the city home to nearly 256,500 people.
