Syracuse motorcyclist in critical condition after crashing into a trailer on SR 13

Police say a Syracuse motorcyclist was critically injured, following a crash with another car pulling a trailer.

It happened just after 6:30 pm on Wednesday in Kosciusko County. The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department says 26-year-old Michael Gunderson, who was driving a ford pick-up towing a trailer, came to a stop in the southbound lane of State Road 13. That's when he says a motorcycle suddenly slammed into his trailer.

Deputies say the motorcyclist is 56-year-old Daniel List of Syracuse. No passengers were riding with him at the time of the crash. List was airlifted to a nearby hospital in Fort Wayne, and is suffering from a severe head injury. He is listed in critical condition. According to officers, he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Gunderson and his passenger were not injured.

The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. Team says the crash is under investigation due to pending toxicology results of both drivers.
