One man dead after electrical accident in Silver Creek Township

One man is dead after an electrical accident turns fatal.

A Cass County Sheriff says he responded to a call around 6:30 last night about a person who had possibly been electrocuted. It happened at a home on Middle Crossing Road in Silver Creek Township. When deputies arrived, they say they found one person lying unconscious and the other person performing CPR. Deputies continued CPR until the ambulance arrived but they were unable to revive him.

They say Timothy Curtis, his son Jonathon Curtis, and a juvenile were trying to install a metal TV tower when the tower touched overhead power lines. Timothy and Jonathon were both shocked and knocked unconscious. The juvenile's name is being with held, but was not injured in the incident.  Jonathon regained consciousness and began to perform CPR on his dad who was unable to regain consciousness. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Jonathon is currently at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo where he is listed as stable. The incident remains under investigation.
