"Click it or Ticket" campaign over holiday weekend

This month, police have been cracking down on drivers not wearing seat belts, but with this weekend being one of the busiest holiday travel weekends, police are on the look out to ticket drivers who don't click it.

"Click it or Ticket" awareness month started on May 9th, and goes all the way till June 9th. Police say all passengers, including those in the back seat, must wear a seat belt.
Mishawaka Police Lieutenant Tim Williams says, so far, the number of tickets given this month for not wearing a seat belt are more than their usual average.

Police say teens and young adults are at higher risk for fatalities when not wearing seat belt. Police say the single most effective way to reduce fatalities is wearing you seat belt. Back in 2012, nearly half of those who were killed in vehicle crashes were not wearing their seat belts.
