Police are continuing to search for a man want on a charge of possession of an explosive device.  The bomb squad and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF) were called in to a domestic disturbance case in LaPorte County after officers say they found possible explosive devices in the home.

The domestic disturbance call came in to the LaPorte County Sheriff's Department around 9:00pm Monday night.  When they got to the home on the 7200 block of County Road 125 North, deputies say they spotted what looked like homemade explosives.

They got the female victim out of the home, but the male suspect wasn't there.  The Porter County Regional Bomb Squad and BATF were called in to dispose of the possible explosives.  They worked all night, clearing the scene around 5:30am on Tuesday.

Police are still looking for the suspect, 54-year-old Robert Ofcky.  He is 6'3" tall, weighing around 265 lbs, and has short brown hair and green eyes.  He also has the letters "N A N C Y" tattooed on his left hand just below his knuckles.  Authorities say he could be driving a golf-colored Ford F150 pickup.  Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Kevin Ulam at 219-326-7700 ext. 2556.
