"Grocery store of drugs" found in South Bend apartment

Maintenance workers cleaning up what they thought was a vacant apartment near Notre Dame campus discovered an extensive supply of illegal drugs

Around 8:00pm Tuesday night, workers at The Foundry apartments on Eddy St. Campus flagged down South Bend police officers after finding what they believed were drugs and packing equipment.

When police officers searched the apartment, they found what Capt. Phil Trent said was "like a grocery store of drugs."  Trent says the apartment contained cocaine, methamphetamine, psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana, scales, baggies, packaging equipment, pipes, bongs, lighters, and chemicals for making meth.

Police are currently searching for three male suspects in the case.  They are the 25-year-old renter of the apartment and two other men who police say had access to the apartment.  Authorities have not released names or descriptions of the suspects at this time.
