Super Bowl 50 logo ditches roman numerals

The Super Bowl 50 logo has been released, but this year there's something missing. Did you notice?

The NFL has opted out of using roman numerals and decided to stick with the standard arabic numerals. So instead of using "LXXXVIII", they're sticking to using "50." The reason being, they say the "L" isn't "pleasing to the eye." Don't get too upset thought, the NFL says this change isn't permanent. The roman numerals will return for the 2017 game, Super Bowl LI.

The league has been using roman numerals since 1971.
