Several injured as batting cage falls from ceiling at Goshen College

Several people were injured at Goshen College's Recreation-Fitness Center Monday night.  Jodi Beyeler, Director of Communications and Marketing, says a cable broke that was holding up a batting cage suspended above the court.

Beyeler says the incident happened around 6:40 tonight.  There was a summer high school volleyball league playing at the time.  The spokesperson says several adults in the stands were hit.  We're told four parents went to the hospital.  Beyeler says three were taken by ambulance.

The college is looking at this as a freak accident at this point, and they will be investigating to figure out what happened.  Beyeler adds the college's thoughts and prayers are with the injured.
