3 people injured, 2 horses killed in LaGrange County car-wagon accident

The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a horse-drawn wagon late Monday night. 

Police say it happened in the area of N 1150 W and W 250 N in LaGrange County, between Shipshewana and Middlebury. 

Police tell us that a wagon pulled by two horses was headed north on 1150 W, when it was rear-ended by a car. Police say the wagon did not have lights on it. 

According to police, three people were in the wagon at the time of the accident, but only two were taken to a local hospital. The driver of the car was also taken to a local hospital. Police say all the injuries are non-life threatening.

Police also tell us that one of the horses was killed on impact, while the other horse was badly injured and was later euthanized at the owners request.
